The didactic portfolio of teaching formats, seminar papers, and examinations in humanities and social sciences was first established in the 1950s. The ability to compose written work played an important role in this. Writing a long thesis is also intended to demonstrate proficiency in scientific work in the engineering sciences. Now, however, the situation is arising where chatbots such as ChatGPT can write texts whose origin can no longer be traced and whose sources cannot be cited. Self-learning machines as learning coach and ghostwriter are consequently upsetting traditional structures. But how should we deal with this?
Following a short input lecture by Dr. Thilo Hagendorff, we will be discussing this topic with
- Jun.-Prof. Dr. Amrei Bahr,
- Prof. Dr.-Ing. Steffen Becker,
- Dr. Thilo Hagendorff,
- Prof. Dr. Katharina Hölzle,
- and representatives of the student body.
Moderation: Dr. Simone Rehm
