Digital Support for Self-Regulated Learning and Work: Between Surveillance and Support

March 24, 2025 /

Our IRIS speaker, Jun.-Prof. Dr. Maria Wirzberger, provided insights into her research at the intersection of responsible human-technology interaction during an online lecture for the gifted group at Vilshofen Gymnasium.

Under the title 'Digital Support for Self-Regulated Learning and Work: Between Surveillance and Support', she presented the software focUS, developed further by her department, which builds on cognitive science findings to support strategies for focused learning and working. Following the presentation, she discussed with the students potential opportunities and resulting challenges for the educational use of the software.

Students sit in the classroom and look at the screen on which Maria Wirzberger can be seen.
