Project Focus
Automated detection and analysis of populism across various data types. BERT models are employed for detection, applied to corpora such as the plenary protocols of the German Bundestag or political speeches on YouTube. This enables a detailed and temporally fine-grained analysis of the use of populist language in German politics. Following a thorough evaluation of the performance of this approach, the intention is to extend it to other languages, particularly English.
